Weather System Heading Our Way
Weather for Madison County and Surrounding Areas
We know it seems early to be talking about a winter storm that may impact all of Central Indiana on Wednesday into Thursday of next week, but it really isn't too early. Right now the models all seem to show that a cold front will stall out over the region and create a winter storm beginning Tuesday as rain. Where the cold front stalls out will determine who gets what.

The rain is currently expected to turn into a mixture of freezing rain and sleet on Wednesday and then to all snow. SIGNIFICANT ice and snow accumulations will be possible, again, depending on where the cold front stalls out. ALL models are indicating this will be a major precipitation event of some sort. That said, by Monday we should have a better handle on the weather for the middle of the week. As of right now, this storm is not showing any signs of weakening. The most "uncertain" area on the precipitation type and amount is a Portland to Muncie/Anderson, to Kokomo, to Terre Haute line. We here at Madison County Community Network news watch many different weather sources to get our information. We keep you updated as we get more information and better determinations on the track of the cold front.
